CULT: Around the garden in Aus.

From: "Jan Clark" <janclarx@hotmail.com>

Hi all,
I was very excited to see that my TB seedlings are starting to take on
different characters. Many are 6" tall now, but no increases yet. Some
are showing good strong growth and I can see which will have broad or
narrow leaves. The most exciting (to me) was a LILLYPILLY WINE X HE MAN
seedling which is showing purple foliage like it's mum!
In the iris garden I have been picking out those stalks that I would
take to a show (just a mental exercise - not actually going to show
them) and the best stalks at present are on WITCHES SABBATH, ENGLISH
CHARM, MARAUDER, BREAKERS, JESSIE'S SONG, AMERICA's CUP, ALPINE JOURNEY,
BAHLOO. All are looking lovely with at least 3 open, nicely shaped
blooms per stalk, despite heavy winds over the weekend. AJ is not as
pretty a flower as AURA LIGHT, but the latter has short, crowded stems.
BLUES BROTHERS and IN TOWN also look lovely, but BB is very crowded, and
IT a bit tall and sparse.
So many, many TB's have opened over the weekend, but I won't bore you
with a list. Must stop chatting, and get back to the important work of
cleaning up the property, before bushfire season.
Cheers, Jan Clark
