Glynn,
Welcome to Iris Talk. We have another member in the Republic of South
Africa. The pineappling may be due to the Irises being "confused" because
of being sent from one place to another where the seasons are reversed. If
this is the case, they will grow out of it.
Bloomout (all fans bloomed) is another matter. Often, the Iris is
lost. However, notice that I said "often" instead of always. Sometimes,
the mother rhizome will have the lateral growth buds for increase. So,
even if all fans on an Iris bloom, I would recommend waiting until winter
before removing the rhizome because it could send up another fan. When I
used to live in the US State of Kentucky, this happened to me with the TB
Iris POETIC.
