Does anyone know of a strain of I.florentina that's a deep purple self?
I purchased a plant from an herb nursery quite a few years back and would love to find out if it was labeled properly. (At the time I was doing herb gardens and it added some needed color.)
The plant I have has a definite species look to it, about 12" tall with blooms slightly larger than a well proportioned SDB; bloom is at the very end of the SDBs and increase is only average. It is one of the most fragrant things in this size range, but have never tried it as a fixative since that's a two year process. :-/ I have used it medicinally and for this, it works quite well (but then so should most beardeds).
