I've been bitten by a big field spider, and it took a long time to heal. At
least I think it was a field spider - it fell out of a cedar tree down my
back when I was mowing the lawn. It bit me when I went to get the itchy bits
of cedar out of my pants and inadvertently got the spider trapped under my
watch band.
So almost any spider can bite and the bites are painful. I didn't think that
the harvesters had a big enough mouth to actually bite anyone though.
