Me too - I was surprised to hear on list that rhizomes with shaved roots
can also make it out of the 4 inch pots in 2 weeks (seems to be top
speed here).  I am going to pay more attention to this next year - keep
track of rooting speed and subsequent performance.  The old roots can
definitely remain functional, at least some of the time on some
cultivars.
