Sometime ago, I recommended the Quarterly Bulletin of the Alpine Garden
Society as one of the three best iris publications in the world. This
last issue (Volume 67 #3) exceeds all previous issues. There are 38
beautiful photographs of rare irises in a special issue which focuses on
the area of West and Central Asia. There are two articles speficially
on irises, one on onchocyclus by Jim Archibald and the other on
reticulate irises by Brian Mathew. If you have any interest at all in
species irises, this is a must.
