Why not ?  If you managed to breed something perfect in your own eyes
and for your specific tastes that had all of the qualities you mentioned
above , why wouldn't you register it ?  Who cares about current trends
or how it would look on the show bench .  Shouldn't the whole idea in
hybridizing be to create something you like ?  

I ordered 20 more historics this year to use for breeding , I certainly
don't expect to get a Dykes candidate out all of these crosses but I
fully expect to have seedlings that I like that will appeal to a certain
group of gardeners.  

I used the pollen of CHAMPAGNE  ELEGANCE on HONORABILE and several other
historics this year and I can't wait to see the seedlings :-)
