WOW!! After reading -and printing out to read again! - I figured I should be
dead years ago! I have/had outlined all my beds with "garden ties"(?) I
think they were called -- pressurized/preserved 4 x 4s (I think they are) and
never thought there was a problem OR is what I have/had (still some are so
outlined == and plants didn't know they were supposed to fade into oblivion
-- ) the same as what is so beautifully, graphically, scarey written
about??? That is really a most impressive dissertation ! I wonder if my
treatment of at least 2 sometimes 3 coats of Wood-Preserver covered up the
evil, or did it just add to the problem?
My garden is on a very slight slope, so slight that most people don/\'t
realize it. But the soil can wash and has washed down over the years when
there is a knock-down-dragout heavy downpour (we have had some of those
recently) and I used this lumber to hold back the soil -- some places I
now use LIRIOPE which does a good job. I'm still reeling from the inpact of
that expose' -- and I thank you, Dallas, for it.
Now I'm going to pose another problem in my next, this is long enough!
