My complaint about the SDB's is that 99% of them here never bloom at their
registered height. Many try to bloom down in the fan, and it is
impossible for the flower to open fully. I can think of only two or
three in growing them for thirty years that conisistently bloom for
me at 10 to 12 inches. Those that can get out of the fan to bloom
are on 4 to 6 inch stalks, making them MDBs in height.
When I was at the Michigan convention in '97 where there was
lots of SDB bloom, there were many there blooming below
registered height, too.
