Not to worry, Joy.  You have a case of late-season fungal leaf spot.  It
will not kill and probably will not even significantly harm your plants.
But to avoid having it come back in the spring, cut off all spotted and
dead leaf tips, collect any dead and dry iris leaves from the bases of the
fans, and burn them.  Continue to clean up like this until cold weather,
then repeat the cleanup in the spring.

If the spots re-appear despite your efforts, almost any commercially
available systemic fungicide will deal with the problem  in a few
treatments.

But keeping the garden cleaned up is the best prevention.

By the way, you do not say where you are.  Usually folks include in their
signature line their state and USDA Zone.
