Hello Jim and other Talkers:
I too am interested in Iris virginica. Louisiana Nursery (Ken Durio,
proprietor) offers a "collection" of I. virginica...ranging from white to
dark purple. I purchased the set a few years ago, and they have all lived
and grow well. One of the set is particularly wide and lovely, though the
color is a bit weak.
