Hi folks,
Jan Clark (perhaps impulsively) said:
>>Aussie listers should watch out for the 'Bulb Express' catalogue. With a view to good economic work practices, they use a minimum of photo's in their catalogue, touching up the colours according to the variety on offer.<<
Jan, I must say that my experience with Bulb Express has anything BUT shonky. We have found that the quality of the bulbs that they have supplied have exceeded some of the pitiful specimens sent by the likes of Tessellars (ie. those Pink Arum that they were flogging a few months ago that arrived looking like a crooked finger!) lately.
Jan further says:
>>Some other photo's are used several times over, sometimes enlarged, or reversed, always representing a different cultivar of the same flower.<<
Just to resolve Jan's comments and hopefully allay her fears I contacted Bulb Express and "asked the question". The managing director has advised that they have used three photos twice, as Jan has explained as, opposed to the 200+ original ones in their catalogue. Not a bad effort - I would say.
>>Their prices are by no means cheap, and, having never bought from them, I can't attest to their quality.<<
Well I HAVE bought from them and feel that Jan's comments were a little harsh and unjust. I just wanted to allay her fears, explain her comments about the liatris photo and perhaps put Bulb Express back "up there" where they belong based on our experiences with the company.
My two cents worth.
