While you 'all are enjoying the rebloom... here is an observation.
You all know how public the internet is. Any message posted to <iris-talk> is very public and can be found published on other servers and requires no subscription to find and view them. For example, go to www.egroups.com/messages/iris-talk. You'll see everyone's recent <iris-talk> messages, and can browse forward and back or select by number to find everything previously posted to <iris-talk>. One does not need to be a member of <iris-talk> to view our messages.
Note that your email address is on file in these other discussion groups (there are many servers offering discussion groups covering just about any topic you can think of). If you are beginning to receive a lot of unwanted junk mail advertising (I am), you can see how other software programs can be developed to scan these discussion groups and pull off your email addresses, build a distribution list, sell and or use for advertising.
So now you are thinking, "gee, I didn't know others could read my iris messages, or ...what did I say in a previous message?...who did I flame (just kidding), or ...oops, I didn't mean to say that..." YEP, you've gone public!
