I was 'wandering about' this afternoon and drove over to the display garden
at Natcher school. CORN HARVEST and VIOLET RETURNS were in full bloom, but
on short stalks. VR has the softest but most brilliant coloring I have ever
seen on it. Truly beautiful. FEEDBACK & TEA LEAVES have a stalk each, but
no color yet.
Three seedlings are about to bloom here, all purple. The others were dug
earlier, held out of the ground for awhile, and do not appear to want to
bloom. The point is they all have nice tall stalks shaped like the spring
stalks. Is it possible that the condition of fall stalks depends on water
supplied during the summer? Has anyone else noticed such a difference?
