Hi, everyone!
Thank you for your advice on potting irises - I'm using deeper pots
and keeping them in a cool, dry place.
I planted 12 SDB rhizomes yesterday, but there's already a bit of
browning around the edges of the fan (~5" high). Do you recommend
that I cut the brown parts off? I read that I shouldn't cut them in
the spring, but could cut them in the fall. Also, would it disturb
the roots greatly if they're dug up in the spring and repotted?
Right now, the rhizomes are only inches apart from one another.
Finally, how frequently should they be watered? I wouldn't want to
drown or dessicate my little friends.
Many thanks,
Christine, just northwest of Boston
