My background of using bleach to santize things comes from
homebrewing. 1:10 mix is much stronger then anything used by
homebrewers. I think the standard blend is 1oz to 1 gallon [US
gallon/US oz] so 1:128. So to me 1:10 just seems high. Old habits I
guess. The highest soloution I've seen suggested was 1% or 1:100.
People will actually use a lower ratio and avoid any rinsing. I know
there are different issues but after years of doing it one way it's
become a habit.
