Re: CAT: TB Wild Frontier

Patricia,

I've been tempted into ordering irises from Van B. and several other clearing houses because of those fantastic prices. But I've found that by the time the rhizomes are shipped to me in late September or sometimes early October, I haven't enough time to get them established before winter settles in and I end up losing about 90% of them. I'd a whole lot rather pay the extra price to a reputable vendor and get my rhizomes in a timely manor so they have a fighting chance. In zone 8 where you are that might not be an issue, but it sure is here. I've had rhizomes arrive mislabeled too, so beware. I ordered Joyce Terry from them several years ago and the one survivor finally bloomed this year as a solid yellow MDB. Joyce Terry......not!

A van Bourgondien catalog arrived today. And there on page 4 was
Shreiner's WILD FRONTIER, which I ordered (by gift certificate) this
year for $30. And vB has it for $3.95!
