Hello Folks,
Received my Riverview order over Labor Day weekend. Everything I ordered,
two bonuses. Only one could be called medium sized but they sent two of
that. They also sent two large rhizomes of another I'd ordered (this was in
addition to bonus plants). All in all an excellent package. Except for the
one, everything would have had to have been classed as large rhizomes.
I'm guessing Riverview is relatively new as a commercial iris supplier? I
would note that if they can maintain their current listing, they are and
will be for some time a remarkable resource for a lot of obscure and hard to
locate cultivars. That is reason enough to hope they are ultimately a
success. Some of what I ordered certainly qualify as hard to locate.
Others were replacements of things I've lost and am not ready to give up on
growing just yet, though they are readily available through other commercial
suppliers.
I'm sorry others weren't as pleased with their order, but for the second
year of ordering I am quite satisfied. Maybe I'm just too easy? I've been
satisfied with all my suppliers again this year. Not counting the ASI Plant
Sale order, I have only one more to arrive. I'm sorry to say that even with
my request for the late shipments, I'm running out of pots and am afraid
some are just going to have to chance it with the grasshoppers. The
'hoppers are probably going to love that, but I'm not.
