Hello,
I'm new to this group and it's great to see all this
iris-talk. Originally from California where Spurias
are a plant that grows in abandoned lots, roadsides,
and the like, they are perhaps my favorite group iris.
I've recently been looking for suppliers as well.
Years ago, I bought a few from Bay View Gardens (no
web site), which had a fantastic selection, and plants
arrived in great condition (1201 Bay Street; Santa
Cruz, CA 95060, $2 for a catalog, 831-423-3356). They
bloomed the very first year, which is supposed to be
unusual. I don't know if they ship out of the country.
The best selection I've found on-line has been All
Things Iris, but on last check, a lot of their choices
have been sold out. Seems like I got the last of Arts
Alive. I was a bit disappointed with the order,
because the plants seemed small, but they did grow new
roots during shipment, it seems.
Good luck!
Any other Spuria growers here?
