This year I tried this (on purpose, really!). It doesn't keep off the
grasshoppers. Maybe I don't have enough weeds. On my spot of land even
some of the weeds have trouble doing well. Unfortunately, Western Ragweed
does pretty well and that's one I chose not to let invade amongst the iris.
