Hi,

I have done this for 3 summers.  This year less than last year and the year
before.  (TIME :) )  The fleshy ones disappear as they dry up and become
dust.  The dryer spindly ones must be pulled out but they really are easy
when the ground is soft.  A lot easier than weeds and prettier.  They do
reseed but are later than the ones from flats that are jump started earlier.

I have found no adverse problems.  Only positive things.  They do not wrap
into the Iris but prefer the dirt as a background.
