I guess I don't have any damage from crickets since the rhizomes
look ok..I don't 'bury' the rhizomes either but they are sure
are rooted well. 

Looking for a few days of hard freezes to kill the borer-moth. I
least we think that is why nobody around here has seen borer
damage or any a borer. They are prevalent to the south of us and
also a few miles north in Canada where they are about a zone (or
two) warmer than we are. They also don't have our mountains in
that part of Quebec.
