Re: OT-CHAT: Isabel?

Thanks, Linda, for your concern.Isabel was a worry, but personally I realize
I was very lucky. We had very little rain in comparison to what we were
promised - not enuf to worry my sump-pumps, even! The wind has stripped the 75 yr
old japonica of all its leaves and some from my trees plus a lot of twigs,
but thankfully no limbs.
I still have power, which is a wonder, because the 3 houses around the corner
have only partial power -- each of them -- one has her frig plugged into a
neighbor's outside plug -- a very long cord conection! Some areas are facing a
week or more of no power.
The irises are holding their own -- and I still have planting to do, which
has been postponed several times due to weather! But I feel very thankful - it
has been a terrible experience for so many who have lost homes, etc.Our
waterfront (Chesapeake Bay) in downtown Baltimore was under water. Rosalie nr
Baltimore USA zone 7 which does not need any more rain! ryfigge@aol.net
