I get a couple of cubic feet worth of Pro-Mix and pot into 3, 4, 6 inch containers until I drop.

It is light, a mix of peat and perlite. That is my primary concern. I've found that 'clients' buy many more irises at the club sales in spring when they discover that they can actually carry more than two.

I don't worry about fertilizer, I worry more about making sure the entire root ball can be popped out of the pot about an hour after it's purchased.
