Griff - I like it.

Our 6-9 feet of snow on the ground ensures no thaw. I have never
seen the ground/soil anytime in winter during the 15 years I
have lived up here. January thaw might mean a foot of snow melt
or most of the time, there is no Jan. thaw, just more snow.
March can be the snowiest month of the winter but snow is a
blessing to the flowers (white mulch) and to us as well...our
economy needs it for the tourist winter sports and most of us
ski ....makes us more pleasant thru the dark, cold winter.
