Mike,

Probably in South Carolina, you grow mainly TBs but there are
several members in South Carolina in the Society for Siberian
Irises and also members of Society for Japanese Irises. I am
more familiar with the the Siberian members and we have more
life members of SSI joining in the South. Our membership
secretary lives in the Piedmont region of North Carolina (where
I once lived).

The culture of the apogons (beardless irises) differs
significantly from the bearded irises. Here in New England, AIS
Region 1, we have yearly apogon sales and we do use the term
apogon.

Cheers,

Ellen (who has 'the' shingles.... darn childhood chicken pox)
