I appreciate the information I have received about pests and planting, and I 
apologize for not using the subject tags properly. One who teaches technical 
writing really should read instructions more carefully, I suppose :)

To those who provided information on when to plant rhizomes, thanks. We had 
an infrequent beautiful day today, and they are planted now. My blasted 
crickets are still at it. The constant rain has washed away the pesticide, and they 
are voracious. They favor the smaller rhizomes I transplanted from my mom's 
garden. I was taught the old wives tale that they are good luck. But this has 
changed my mind for sure! I am wondering when they'll start dying.....
