Before John comments on the length of this thread I will add my 2 cents. There are other threats than virii out there. I f you have never used an adware(spyware) remover such as Lavasofts Adware, Spybot Search and Destroy or Spy Sweeper please do so. The results are usually shocking to most folks but they also cut down on getting spam.Cathy, like I said, you always have some points I haven't considered ie: the other OS and systems. The choices I remember were more like MS DOS, Apple or MAC and they didn't set on a desk top! Another choice was, do you want Beta or VHS? As Debby posted, I too have spent time (years) trying McAfee, Norton's and have found the Grisoft has done as well as any for a while. They all get complacent and ride their laurels too long before they are forced to major overhauls and then the fine tuning. It is an ongoing process. Sounds like Panda might be one to look at.
Yes I would love to have a few links to check out regarding warnings and/or announcements. Please feel free to send it to me off list too as I'm getting too windy here with questions. Thanks! Char in Idaho
The Security Threat Watch from www.neohapsis .com is a multiple platform technical bulletin but it also warns you when you need to upgrade or get a security patch for common software such as Mozilla, Eudora,WinAmp and WinZip.
