Re: HYB: Pink Formal kids

Playing around with the PF descendants - it shows up in 156 pedigrees in
the 50s checklist, drops to 101 by the 60s, but then continues to show
up for subsequent decades, contributing to award winners up into the 90s
(Ensminger's JOY JOY JOY, new here this year). I haven't tried growing
very many of them - ULTRAPOISE, possibly PINK FULFILMENT and PARTY
DRESS.

% of kids with PF in the pedigree that won awards increased over time
(8%, 28%, 0%, 29%, 36%, none so far this decade). But I guess that is
probably true for all older irises & their seedlings still being used
for hybridizing - why mess with the older stuff if it won't win awards?

Those are just the pedigrees that include PF herself, not her registered
kids - digging that out is more trouble than I want to tackle this time
of year.
