Don, you and many others on iris-photos are most generous in your persmission
to use photos to editors of this-n-that (as I have asked many times as an
Editor) and you all even provide higher resolution pics that are more "printable
quality". I especially am grateful for that and try to ALWAYS ask for
specific permission.
I do, however, as I think many people do, regularly print off copies for use
at iris sales (picture sells the plant) with out asking.
Using another person's pictures on a website or catalog or even in an iris
publication is quite unforgivable without permission in my own opinion, even if
the picture has been put freely on a forum.
BTW, anyone with great median or Japanese iris pictures is encouraged to send
them to me off-list (PLEASE!) and I promise to credit the photographer and
even send a copy of the publication if you are not a member of the Section .
