And don't forget that the original digital compilation of names came
from Howard Hughes, before the online database.  As I understand it, he
went thru all the checklists manually entering names up through the 90s.

Right John?

For the database, the checklists are scanned before the editors start
editing, so at least the full entries don't have to be typed manually.
