Dorothy,
Your intros. do exceptionally well in my Zone 3 soggy climate.
When I was making room for more medians in a couple of beds last
year, I only kept a few of my tried and true MTBs. In one
particular bed I kept 'Festive Glow' (Willott '96). It remains
my favorite MTB because of two things: it blooms its head off
each year and the color is outstanding. The description: S.
bright orange yellow;style arms orange yellow; F. deep brownish
red violet, 1/8" orange yellow edge; beards deep orange. HM 99.
Hard to figure why it never got at least an AM.
The effect is startling in the garden and it really does glow.
Cheers,
Ellen Gallagher / New Hampshire's northern White Mts. / Zone 3
