Your intros. do exceptionally well in my Zone 3 soggy climate.
I would like to add that the Willott iris do equally well in my arid, alkaline, Cascade Mt. foothills USDA zone 5. I have mostly the MDBs, they are on a steep slope on the north side of my house. I put them in that spot for two reasons, to bloom when the ABs bloom and for me to enjoy from my back porch. Both expectations have been fulfilled. I have many micro climates in my yard. I planted Lowell Beaumunk's Petite Lion in three different areas and discovered it loves one, detests another and will die there. The third location produces stunted plants and flowers. The soil is the same in two of the beds. The third bed is raised a bit and has some commercial top soil from Lowe's spread thinly on it because there is nothing but small rocks and gravel beneath that. No extra fertilizer was put in this bed. My soil becomes hard as a rock in summer and very dry as we have many days when our temperature hovers in the high nineties and we have quite a bit of wind.
