Re: Re: CULT: HYB: Poppers & greenhouses

OH! Then that REALLY will simplify things!

Sorry I'm responding so late to this string . . . we had company over the weekend, and I"m just now catching up!

Well, 10 weeks would certainly make some stinky water . . . I don't think the iris seeds would make it either!

Wow, am I just making this process harder, or are there really some specific details to germinating iris seed that I'm not aware of.

Dan M. just sent information and a great photo of his iris germinations using Jiffy Peat-pods. Thanks, Dan. I may just use that method next year!!!

Just so everyone knows, I sluffed off watering those iris seeds twice a day. I'll only water them about 3 times a week now, untill frost sets in.

I have to read the other posts in reply to my uncertain techniques, yet, so you'll be hearing another post from me yet!

Thanks everyone!
Adam~

Yikes, Adam - not 10 in the toilet tank; 10 !

Recent article in the Bulletin measuring chemistry of soak water over
time showed most of the water soluble inhibitor was removed in less than
5 days.

As Paul has said, those inhibitors are easy to remove - the ones that
require chilling (vernalization) are &^%#! more of a challenge.
