I have used Basagran on TB's with no problem. I have also used Poast (an annual grass herbicide that works very well) with some leaf tip damage, but does not seem to hurt the plant in other ways, even just before bloom.
You might also consider Image for harder to control plants like wild onions and I think it is labelled for nutgrass. It may not kill the Onions outright, but since it kills the roots it sure makes them easier to pull up. It takes a couple of applications and acts only on the roots once it has gone down into the soil so some minimal drift onto the leaves is really not an issue. I have sprayed directly on and around TB's and there has been absolutely no effect that I could tell.

Doesanyone out there have any experience using Basagran as a sprayover on
irises, daylilies or peonies? An even bigger stretch, asparagus? We have a
nutgrass problem, and physical extraction is not working well.
Thanks,
John Bruce
