Sort of. If you have seen both you may be able to distinguish them. A lab 
test would be the only way to get an unimpeachable diagnosis, however.

There is good material on this point in The World of Irises, published by 
AIS, and also in the Archives of this list. Look especially for some posts by 
Bill Shear on the subject, and also, if my memory serves, some good material by 
Jeff Walters. It basically boils down to the time and circumstances under which 
the pathogen manifests, the configuration of the spots, and the location of 
the discoloration on the leaves. 

If you are fighting some crud up there tell us what it looks like and maybe 
we can summon forth an impeachable opinion for you.
