I use a plastic garbage can full of water for the first rinse, then a
bucket of Clorox solution for a quick dip, then another bucket of water
for a rinse.
From there, they go onto some big window screens salvaged long ago,
propped at an angle across chair backs, overturned garbage cans, or
garden tables, fans pointing downhill. They stay in the sun for awhile,
unless it's really hot out, get flipped over to dry the other side, then
moved into the shade on the screens or into the house if necessary to
keep the dew/rain off to finish drying.
Good airflow coming out of the ravine behind the house late in the day.
Each screen is about 3 x 6 ft. Three have been big enough for all I can
dig in a day, even with help.
