I wondered about that, or more accurately, I wondered whether we were talking
about the mysterious 'Holden Clough' and its kin folk, but the term
sounded like one of those pompous but empty made-up things from the mass market
nursery catalogs.
As Dorothy said, the genetic heritage of this is mysterious, so that the
bottom line is: All that can be declared with certainty is the cultivar is a
hybrid beardless iris.
