And now back to irises....

"Too many folks in this good old USA worry too much about being politically incorrect."

Perhaps so, but THIS is not the USA, THIS is the World Wide Web, and THIS is the iris list. Let's talk about irises?

Here in "good old Australia" we are about to enter into Iris season. I already have a stalk on Barry Blyths "Irish Darling" and a bloom about to open on "Minds Eye". Both these i consider to be somewhat late rebloom. ID is an IB and very pleasing in colour, form and balance. The stalk is sitting in a vase on my windowsill, with 3 blooms open at present, so I can savour the blooms until they close. A nice little purple dwarf iris given to me as "possibly reichenbachii" has been blooming for 2 weeks, and my first ever I. pumila, courtesy of SIGNA has just opened, very uninteresting sadly! Fat buds are appearing on other I. pumila, and I. attica, and the presence of buds is evident in a number of SDB's. The sun is shining, another lovely gardening day for those who can find the time.

Cheers, Jan in Australia
