Re: Cult: Dual Membership in club rules

Thanks Bob,

Actually Bob Plank and his wife have been a great help. I have the forms etc
from him as to generic by-laws etc. So things are coming along. Anner turned
me on to him a while back because I didn't have a clue where to start.

I just sort of wondered what other clubs did and their dues and by-laws.
I didn't realize that clubs dues were so low. So will defiantly suggest the
$12 or maybe even $6. (that would be .50 cents a month which people around
here might can handle better.)

Also Idaho has helped by sending me a copy of their by-laws which I really
like. Just every club has to do their own needs.

As far as mail goes, I don't want to get into a lot of mailing (and that can
run your cost up. We are all local phones here, plus most people have a
computer.

But certainly want that tax number. Right now we'll be a part of PAIS I
guess, until that happens.

There are many ways to structure local club dues. Some
affiliates charge just enough to cover the minimal
amount for postcards announcing meetings and some add
to this an AIS membership cost. If the person is
already a member then the dues are minimal. I know of
few clubs that use their dues to create their treasury
but instead gain money for that as they have sales
etc. Since the normal cost other then AIS membership
is either low or nonexistant this difference is
usually not of concern whether one belongs to one or
five local clubs. In forming a local club it is a good
idea to contact Bob Plank to make sure that by-laws
are written in cornformity with 501C3 tax code.
