Membership Dues Local and national

 For some time I have been wondering why we have
different dues for individual memberships and for
Family memberships. It seems to me this just
complicates things. When goes the the AIS website you
see twice as many choices as is necessary. If all we
had was a membership perhousehold it would reduce the
number of buttons to choose from. In marketing simple
is always better. What value is there in having an
individual membership as opposed to a family
membership except to extract a couple more dollars? I
believe this is true for national, sections and local
club memberships. Why make things so complicated?
