TB:REB

The past 12 months have been a real trial in my part of the world, starting
with the Oct freeze last year in mid October.
There were 2 seedlings from the 2005 cross that bloomed in mid-late June.
Nothing more until ECHO LOCATION in August. Now, I have a stalk of RETURNING
CHAMELEON in full bloom with at least 3 open blooms. Short stalk. There are
four mature rhizomes in this clump and it looks like most will bloom if not
cut down by a freeze.

We are currently approximately 15 inches behind in rainfall. I'm 15 miles
from the location that is measured and summer rain varies. Creek is very low.
The day time high reached 80 on May 20th and did not drop below 80 until
Sept. 10th. Nearly 4 four month of above 80 degrees with many temps of 102-106
setting the new records for those days. Today we are back to 90+.

My garden has no shade, and the new seedling beds and the 2005 seedling beds
are the only things that were watered on a regular basis. The two irises
that did rebloom were accidental clumps, rhizomes tossed aside and lying on top
of the ground, about three feet apart. Both have a lot of shade. RC got dew
drips from the roof of the car port. I suspect there was a bit of water
from a hose joint (leak) from time to time. Opps! Keep forgetting that one
stalk of FEED BACK out by the seedling beds. Water sloshed over!

Night temperature are now much cooler. Waiting to see if anything else
sends up stalks.
