I found a stalk in my clump yesterday.??The stalk has reached full height?and looks quite healthy, with several buds.?Not showing color yet.?

Betty, I checked the bloomstalks yesterday - close inspection revealed burnt and shriveled buds on several of the branches. Griff, it looks like you were right about lack of water, or maybe the combination of heat and dry.?
