Without soil moisture data, I'm convinced temp and maturity isn't enough, especially with highly variable soil texture (gravel to clay with everything in between) and without digging and re-setting every year, or at least every other year, not to mention variations in weed competition.
That kind of control and monitoring is for a younger healthier person or a more comfortable summer climate. ;-)

Linda Mann east TN where it's finally starting to cool off as the fall pollen season arrives...I don't know how people in southern Alabama, MS, GA, LA survived the summer before AC.
