The nematodes parisitize the grubs while they are in the soil, so
timing is important. Once they've entered an iris rhizome, I doubt
the nematodes can get at them. In zone 5, a fall application would
probably also work, but the nematodes are not winter-hardy here and
our freezes are VERY

Question--
the borer isn't in the soil very long -- I wonder if its only a matter of
hours before it pupates and metamorphacizes to hatch!! (this machine is
slow so I hope you can get my drift here!!
As far aas I know, and can understand, the borer is never really a grub, like the J. Beetle????? It doesn't have a food source in the soil?????
Anyone understand this part of the life cycle of the borer??
If it is not a grub, as the J. Beetle, and it's food source is the rhizome
while in larvae stage, one would have to use a systemic on the rhizome, or food source, to attack the borer. nematodes wouldl not have a chance to attack
the borer??????
