In a message dated 96-09-22 01:11:33 EDT, you write:
<< Arnold Koekkoek described a painting method for the use of Roundup which
has
been described for other herbicides over the last few months. I wonder why
this method would not work for Cygon. As a systemic, I assume that it can
be applied to the plant anywhere and an application on one leaf would result
in it spreading throught the plant. The only problem would be whether one
can apply a high enough concentration. Does anyone know if such a method
would work? >>
Anybody ever heard of a Chem-Hoe? It is a piece of pvc pipe with a "y" on
the end and a wick attached to each side of the "y". You fill the pvc with
the chemical mixture (round up), cap it, and the round up soaks the wick and
then you wipe the wick onto the offending plant material. This works pretty
good for careful application and I find it easier than having to bend over
and paint the leaves. I picked mine up at a farm store here locally.
