You will find that "IRIS" is the name of whole gaggle of computer
systems...the reason is that "Information system" is "IS"...and people like
to make acronyms which are actually words....like to be "cute". For
example, EPA has an information system on the properties of various
chemicals, available to academia, called IRIS. But there are many, which
you will find if you hit keyword "Iris" on the Net. Clarence Mahan in VA,
whose conditions in Zone 7 are so unlike Sharon M.'s as to seem a different
planet.
