Depends. Where Dana is, very very reasonable, but you really need to
love the High Plains -- elevation approx 2000 ft., FLAT (did I say
FLAT)?, hot but low humidity in summer, some nasty cold winds across the
plains in the winter, some snow. Very arid, actually.
Lubbock is a nice enough city; I've got kin there and a coupla oil wells
(well, they're really my parents' and aunts-n-uncles') near there.
I prefer the Hill Country but it's a lot more expensive real-estate wise
and more humid, probably lesser desirable for iris, and maybe we have a
borer -- I don't look!
