When you put them in these tubs - there is no water circulation. When
they are in the bog or swamp - there is some water movement, sometimes a
lot. Stagnation will cause any plant to wither and die. (except those
meant to grow in these conditions.) Charcoal helps keep the soil from
souring and turning the plants bad. Even if you drill one hole in the
bottom of each tub, that will help..
