Barb: I wish you better success with the plastic pieces of Venetian
blind than I had. Pushing them into the ground till they are almost
covered is something I never did, but what a pain when you have a
lot. Mine either became brittle and cracked or were heaved out of the
ground by the severe winter freezing/thawing. I found it worth the
cost to buy metal markers. Saved so much weeping, wailing and
gnashing of teeth in the spring. Also the commercial markers are
taller and thus easier to read, especially if one puts some kind of
printed label on them. I use a labelmaker with the Dymo plastic
tape, and I find that if I use ONLY black tape they hold up without
fading for several years. It most likely makes a difference what
one's weather is, both winter and summer.
